Straight to the point. At Bigfoot we are demanding.
We demand that you are all in when you come to work. That you show up when you say you will (or earlier). That you stay until you are supposed to (or later). That you treat every single person on the Bigfoot Crew with dignity and respect (including yourself). That you pay attention to detail. That you treat each client with care, compassion, and professionalism. That you hang your hat on honesty, integrity, and an insatiable desire for perfection. That you come to work knowing that you are valued and that your best interests should be our best interests. That you leave work knowing that you’ve made a difference in lives and that you can be proud of yourself and the company you represent. That you make it to EVERY dance recital, ballgame, and stage performance that your kids take part in. That you bring that new puppy into work for everyone to play with. That you count on your Bigfoot crew to rally and help you move when you buy your first house. That you take your well-deserved paid vacation and completely disconnect. That you enjoy time with the people that you care about. That you never stop never stopping! That you absorb each new experience and grow from it.
So what do you think? Do your values align with ours? Can you see yourself rolling around town in a Bigfoot water damage Denver rig? being a welcome sight to those in need? giving Bigfoot stuffed animals out at charity events? Putting in some killer hours to get water damage Denver jobs wrapped up by the promised date? Taking some well-deserved paid time off to rest and relax with family and friends?
No? A little too intense? That’s ok! We aren’t everyone’s cup of tea! We don’t want to waste anyone’s time (or ours)…and if the above paragraph doesn’t get you fired up, we probably aren’t the right fit. We hold ourselves to the highest standards, regardless of what the rest of the industry is doing. Like Michael Scott said, “The only bar we set low is for limbo!” If you don’t like being a leader, this gig probably isn’t for you. Does that mean you have to be in charge of a huge crew? Nope. It means, start with leading yourself. Demand the best from you and inevitably yourself will follow. Do that for a bit and the confidence will grow into an interest in leading and mentoring others. It’s a process and it needs to be. Now…at Bigfoot.. Is every day a walk in the park? Heck no! Does machinery breakdown on water damage jobs sometimes? Sure does. Do clients get cranky (putting it mildly) every once in a while? It happens. But trust us, the benefits FAR outweigh the occasional issue. Seriously, you don’t necessarily need a background in construction, hold a list of certifications, or even be able to spell restoration(however, spelling ability is appreciated). All you need is a respectful demeanor, a positive attitude, and the ability to sincerely say “Please”, “Thank You”, and “I’m sorry”, when applicable.
Just so you know, there is a very intentionality to what you’ve read so far. It’s simple. We know what we want. We want people with a sincere desire to learn, grow, and to succeed. Skills and ancillaries are just footnotes…those can be acquired. We want people that share the same vision: to make our community believe in Bigfoot as THE BEST OPTION when disaster strikes.
To put a bow on this puppy, we have fun. What is our idea of fun? Well, here’s a quick list for you:
We rented a huge house in Steamboat, CO for the weekend. We played some games, drank some soda pops, raced on the alpine slide and went to the hot springs to relax.
We went to Opening Day for the Colorado Rockies. That. Was. A. Party. We would like to do it again, very soon.
We wrapped up work on a Friday at noon, rented a boat and some jet skis, and spent the rest of the day at Chatfield state park, ending with a nice little beach bar b que.
We rented out a section of the club level bar at the Pepsi Center for some pregame food and drinks, followed by a great Av’s hockey game and fireworks.
When it’s time to decompress, it’s truly that time. Although we hustle side by side every day, we believe that there is huge value in getting to know the crew outside of the trenches…it’s always a great time and it always seems to have an incredible impact on crew chemistry.
