Hello and welcome to bigfoot restoration.

Well, we’ll go over some water damage, Denver jobs. Um, what we did and how they came in and how we mitigated everything and cover some of our procedures. And what makes big foot restoration different than the other companies. So this particular job I’m thinking of, um, came in a few weeks ago, um, we, we got a call that I, a client’s basement was flooded, you know, we show up and it affected a three pretty large rooms. Um, we try and always do a evaluation. What caused it. We make sure the water sources shut off. So on this particular water damage, Denver job, um, she had a sprinkler system that, uh, broke and then flooded a window, well, which then flooded, uh, the three areas that were affected there. So unfortunately some people don’t have sensors in their carpet. We always recommend, um, having a water sensor. So any type, they kind of look like a bigger spiders that just go out throughout the rooms. Uh, put them in corners near hot water heaters, stuff like that where the potential water maker near window wells. Um, but she didn’t have something like this. Most people don’t. Unfortunately for us it’s fortunate, so we get a lot more water damage, Denver jobs that way. But, um, we always recommend them. So if you’re reading this or are listening, um, definitely pick one up home depot, you just set ’em out any moisture that the sensor picks up, we’ll send out an alarm. Um, and then you, you know,

for that. But, um, more times than not it’ll save Ya. I mean, you still may have some damage, but um, it’ll save you quite a bit and it is always recommended. So on this, uh, on this water damage Denver job, we, um, found out what a sprinkler system that filled up the window, well, dry wall underneath the window, well was affected kinda. They went into the, the main part of the bedroom is where the window wall was and then it flowed into a small bathroom in, uh, in a good portion of the living room. So when we know the source, then it, it’s, you feel a lot more comfortable. Sometimes you run into some water damage, Denver jobs that don’t, the source isn’t known. And so you kind of have to troubleshoot. And we use equipment so where things are

So it’s pretty easy, uh, most of the times, 95% of the time doe to figure out what caused it. So that’s eight to mitigate a house and it happens a ride again because you couldn’t figure out what caused it. So we hate to see that. So on this one we had two being it was outside water but it was, it was pretty clean. I mean sometimes you, there’s a categories of of water one, two and three, uh, one being a fresh water leak. Two being kind of what we ran into on this particular water damage. Denver job where it’s an outside source came like a window, well or broken pipe like that from outside or sprinkler system that soaked in a category two can also be a dishwasher or your, um, toilet from the top overflowing and stuff like that. So, and then three is a sewage.

Um, and so sometimes outside water, some people will classify that as three because it does travel through the ground and uh, can pick up quite a bit of, um, material as it travels and there’s your home. So, um, three it’s a total loss. Everything that this water touches, carpet pad, drywall has to be removed. Um, because what’s in that? So this one we, it was fresh. She was apprehensive about, she wanted to keep the carpet if at all possible. And we felt comfortable that we could save it. It happened at a a, even though it was a large amount of water, uh, this particular water damage Denver job, we were able to feel confident that we could save the carpet. Certainly the pad would have to be removed and that’s what we did. So we extract everything on the surface just to get a bulk of the water they’re extracted.

So we did that, removed all that, had to kind of condense some of the furniture. Fortunately the basement wasn’t too cluttered with furniture. Sometimes you run into homes that it’s um, you know, they have everything down there. And, um, it just, that the content manipulation takes quite a while. So on this particular water damage Denver job, we didn’t have to move much content moved it, uh, you make sure that, uh, it’s dry underneath. If it isn’t, you just have to block it or tab it to make sure the legs or whatever, uh, furniture is dry, but we generally will keep it on site because we want to, we’re going to create an ideal dry and condition. And so, uh, some companies may move into a garage or something like that. So what makes us different is, you know, we’re going to keep, if the content needs to get dried out, we’re going to put it and what’s going to be the absolute best drying condition.

And that’s where we have our equipment and air movers and stuff like that. So that’s going to be an ideal drying condition and that’s going to help dry everything out in place or at least close to where, where the content was originally at. So on this, uh, water damage, Denver job, moved the content, kept it into the, everything was pretty much kept in the family room area there. So we extracted the carpet on the surface, pulled it back, extracted again on the pad and that’s where majority of the water will be. A lot of carpet may feel somewhat dry. But when we use our probe, we can find out how far the, even though the carpet may feel drowned to surface, we’ve the pads going to absorb much more water and spread much further. So we kind of do a, a, a perimeter of where the water stopped and we know where to cut the pad.
