Hello and welcome to big foot restoration and repair. We’d like to welcome all the water damage Denver friends. Um, today I’m gonna Discuss, um, a particular job and what happened and what we did to take care of our client there. Um, this was a water damage that occurred and uh, we mitigated it and took care of it and dried it out and, and put it all back together. So, um, unfortunately it’s very common for this to happen. Most people, um, may run across something like this several times in their home, uh, through the course of their life. They’re so, um, nobody wants to make the call to a restoration company, but, um, if you do, big foot restoration is certainly one that you, you want to try and make. If you have any water damage Denver
jobs that need to get done, we will be glad to take care of Ya. Um, so this particular, um, water loss actually turned into a mold job as well. So, um, sometimes when you don’t get it in time, um, you can, um, unfortunately can get some growth going there and it can turn into a mold job, which can certainly affect, uh, have a greater effects and, uh, health risks involved once, um, it kind of goes through the, the water damage Denver area there and into a mold category. I’m so fortunate that we are able to take care of both issues. If you have a water damage Denver job or if you [inaudible] have a mold job, we can certainly take care of both of those for you. Um, so this particular job, um, was one that had a leak upstairs, kind of went through the basement area there. Um, it was one that just didn’t, uh, sometimes you have little leaks that you just don’t know is going on. Um, so this one was leaking for several weeks before. Finally it had a, uh, a major rupture and then the water was found, but it was a little too late. It’s been going on for some time.
So it went from a, a water damage Denver job to a mold jobs. So, um, by the time we were called, um, uh, the water had broken through the drywall and then it was very easily able to see that there was mold involved. So, um, a little bit different way of addressing something like that. Uh, so this job, uh, we recalled, found out it was mold. Um, so our main thing is, is to seal off the area there. We want to contain the mold job, um, to one specific area so we can control, um, very similar to when we have a water damage Denver job, we want to control the area so we can, we want to contain it. We’re able to control the, the temperature, the humidity. Um, kind of get it in. The ideal conditions for drying a mold is very similar in that fashion that we want to contain the area, uh, more for breathing, um, health risks that are involved. And so we do that, contain the area, and then we are able to, uh, put in our equipment and do what’s necessary. So this particular job, um, this water damage Denver job, we, um,
Sealed off the area. We contained it. We turned it into a negative air pressure. So there we have a, so we are taking out the air, we’re circulating it, but we are getting out the, I’m filtering the air and keeping it under a negative air pressure, which is ideal for any mold mitigation that’s necessary. So, uh, contain the area. We then set up our negative error equipment. Um, we do have to done on some equipment protective equipment for technicians. Um, we want to certainly take care of our, our people as well and not have them put in any, um, situation to where their health is at risk. So every water damage dimmer job we do, um, we want to make sure that, uh, we have the, if it’s necessary, we have the right equipment to take care of them.
So this particular one, uh, sealed off, dawned on the equipment, um, started to remove, uh, the mold that was affected. So this one had a quite a bit of dry wall that needed to be removed. The Beg a sealed wrapped up, um, in taken out. So, um, you certainly don’t want to spread the spores, which is why you want to contain the area. We want to make sure this area, um, is the only one that’s affected. So, um, so we did that. We were able to remove all the drywall we get down to the studs. Um, these were also affected by the mold. Um, that water damage Denver job can definitely, uh, do damage, uh, not only on drywall but on this studs as well can grow on anything organically like that. So, um, these were, uh, exposed, uh, even the, uh, the outside foundation wall was affected as well.
So once the drywall has been removed and you, all you have left is the, um, the studs, uh, we are able to treat this studs with, uh, with a product that, uh, within 24 hours, um, will kill the mold. Um, and it will totally be gone. Sometimes we have to use a wire brush to take care of it. Um, but this particular case we were able to spray it down and within 24 hours it was removed and taken care of. So, um, the mold then we found was growing on the backside of the carpet and, uh, the pad is well, so anytime this is infected, it’s ideal to have it removed. So every time you deal with a, uh, water damage Denver job, we want to be able to take a look at the carpet and pads. Sometimes that will be the first things that are affected. So this was affected. So we then had to remove, um, fortunate it wasn’t much carpet, but we removed the carpet, move the pad. Uh, the tack strip also was affected, so that was removed as well.
Anytime with mold. Um, sometimes you’re able to say save it like, uh, like we did for the studs there. Um, but we did such a low cost item as pad in carpet and tech strip. The best method is to remove everything and now, you know, it’s totally gone out of the home. So at this particular, uh, water damage Denver job, we were able to, uh, remove everything, um, get it, uh, down to the studs and we’re able to then set up our equipment, create a negative air. Um, definitely want to seal off all events, anything like that, uh, which we did. You certainly don’t want the, the spores to be traveling throughout the ventilation system. So we seal that off, uh, create a containment area. Um, fortunately this was just contained to one room. So were we able to contain that room there and set up our
