Hello and welcome to bigfoot restoration and repair where we cover a couple of recent jobs we had done and how we mitigated this and um, any Water Damage Denver issues that occurred and how big foot took care of those. Um, we had a job, uh, not too long ago, probably about a week ago, how that had, um, uh, it was down in a, uh, uh, basement bedroom, which is always, um, something that they never went into. And it’s always concerning when you have a Water Damage Denver job like this and they have a leak that’s gone on for a period of time and that’s what occurred here. Um, they had a condenser line, um, that generally will pump out any, uh, humidification or it will dehumidify um, things from the furnace and any moisture. So it pumps it out. And this, unfortunately, the, the line which was supposed to be pumping it out, um, came in contact with the screw and, and kinda had a small hole.

And over time it kind of increased in size. And so, uh, the way the client found out about this was the ceiling eventually got so much moisture in it, it fell down inside the closet. So, um, they heard something. Fortunately, they were home and they heard it. Not much moisture was coming at out each time, but over a period of time, it, it certainly adds up. So that’s what happened here. So we, uh, anytime you’re dealing with, um, moisture like that, uh, that slowly can stuff like that, there’s a strong probability of mold. And on this water damage Denver job, it, uh, it certainly had mold, uh, quite a bit of it actually on the framing dry wall insulation. Um, so it, it affected that closet pretty well. Um, so what we did, we got a call from a contractor that actually, that the gentleman that built the home went out there and they called him first and, and he’s, uh, we’ve done some work for him on other water damage Devore jobs and he called us.

So we, uh, went out there and, and took a look and he had already demoed some, some of the drywall that was wet. Um, banked it up and stuff like that. But unfortunately, um, a lot of clients, they just don’t know any better. And he thought, well, let me dry this framing out and let me start putting a fan on it or a couple of fans. So anytime you’re dealing with mold, that’s the last thing you want to do. There were spores, uh, that then they get blown around, um, throughout the house or you know, at least within this basement area. So, uh, he just did know, um, homeowner wasn’t concerned. Uh, generally what we would do is get a baseline and do a, a mold test and they would check, uh, pretty much most of the house, uh, by concentrating on the basement area where the mold was at.

This particular client, um, wasn’t too concerned, said, no, we’ll uh, don’t have to worry about that. I don’t want to pay the extra money to have a pre and post test, which, uh, can run, you know, six, $700 to have that done. But, um, I felt fairly confident seeing what we saw and, and, uh, he was kept everything close. So I’m confident as well that it didn’t get blown off everywhere. But on this Water Damage Denver job, uh, some mistakes were made on, on the contractors side of things. So he, um, turned it over to us and let us kind of took it from there. Um, so what we did was finish the demolition of everything. So we set up a containment, um, of the room where we were going to be working. So, uh, you know, this would eliminate any type of spores from the mold that could go outside of this room.

So we, we’ve set up a containment at the doorway with the zipper and, um, so on this water damage, Denver job turned more into a mold mitigation more so than, than a water mitigation or anything like that. Um, the framing was pretty well saturated, so we said a dehumidifier, um, but we did set up an air scrubber as well to make sure we clean the air within this, uh, bedroom and um, make sure everything, all spores, everything like that. Uh, was filtered out. So we went ahead and set up a dehumidifier and an air scrubber as well. Uh, so this affected, there was, uh, a glue down wood floor that was on this basement concrete, um, very difficult to get up, but it had swollen in, in many areas and it’s just not going to settle down. Um, it was just centered into this closet, so that would be an easier, a less noticeable way when you patch it back in or feather it back in with new wood.

So his, uh, the contractor who built the house was there and he felt confident that he would be able to do that as well. Um, fellow feather that in. So we went ahead and removed all the wood that was in the, um, closet there and it was glued down. So it was very difficult to get out, actually, not much square footage, but it took, uh, about three man hours. So it was only about 20 square feet, um, and took, uh, about three man hours to, in order to get that up. So on this water damage Denver job, there was some moisture underneath the woods. So it was good to see that we were able to remove that and make sure everything was good and dry. There was some mold growing on the framing. We have products that will treat that and get rid of that.

So we went ahead and treated, um, and and wire brushed it and HEPA vac, everything in the closet area to ensure um, all spores were removed. Um, and just made it as clean as we possibly could. Certainly. Uh, with that air scrubber going, walking it back, uh, or going back through it day two and day three, um, you were able to see a substantial difference if you could just tell that it was getting drier, um, visually, but also with our, uh, readings, we did some readings when we first got there. Then every day we’ll do that relative humidity and temperature and, uh, we’ll test the water content on the framing and make sure that’s making progress in it each day. It really made some giant strides to drying it out. So we felt confident once we moved everything on that third day that everything was as dry as it could be and or that it should be actually. And so with this water damage Denver job, um, not much work, some demo, um, work there and then, uh, removing the floor, but it was the equipment and it’s nice to have the right equipment so you could get in there and leave it and know everything is taken care of. So that’s what what we had done with this particular water damage Denver job,

we went back that third day. Um, we’re going to leave the, uh, containment app just because they’re going to be some drywall work and stuff like that. Done a new ceiling put in, uh, the drywall around the walls as well as going to be done, a new flooring, stuff like that. So if we can contain the dust, uh, goes from more of a containment for mold to containment for construction. So it has multiple purposes to help keep everything somewhat clean throughout the rest of the house. Um, with drywall and stuff like that. It, uh, the sanding and, and everything that goes into putting up new drywall can, uh, that stuff can get everywhere. So it’s always best to have things wired up or contained and, and, uh, isolated to the room that was affected. So that’s what we did there.

Yeah.

So with this one, uh, from start to finish, we, uh, took a look at it on a Tuesday. I’m leaving the equipment Tuesday and, uh, removing the floor on Wednesday, checking it once again on Thursday and on Friday checking it again and removing all the equipment because it was totally dry. So, um, we felt real good about that. Dried it up. Now that construction is going to begin, I believe next week. Uh, so it’s going to be a couple of weeks process, but fortunately it’s in, uh, like I said in a basement bedroom, not much use to condense. Her line was repaired, uh, made sure that was working properly. Um, and condensation was getting, uh, routed out to a drain and working as it should. So we did all that. So, um, I ran was four days total. Um, and then that construction is on, uh, the homebuilder, but everything was clear and we are good. So if you have any other Water Damage Denver issues, um, give big foot restoration to call, we’d love to take care of you.
