Hello and welcome to big foot restoration repair where we’ll go over a few of our water damage, Denver jobs we had done in the previous weeks and kind of discuss what we did to mitigate those. A one job we had done, uh, well that was probably about a week ago, hum. Was one we received from one of our contractors that we do work for. Uh, they do the rebuilding if there’s any, uh, construction that needs to be done. If there’s any demo work done, they’ll come back in and put in new drywall and paint and do all that stuff. So this particular job, we received a call that a master bedroom was wet, the floor, um, about three feet from a wall and the exterior wall. Um, and then the wall, um, showed signs of along the baseboard there that there was some water damage Denver that needed to be looked at and, and used our instruments to see where [inaudible] or came in or what happened.
Nobody really knew how it was coming into the house. So, um, they were hoping there was a, a, a waterline behind the wall. So no, we came in, found out, yeah, the carpet was wet, pad was wet. Um, and then we, uh, went ahead first on most of our water damage Denver jobs we’ll do is um, use our infrared camera and kind of see, um, gives us a better picture of where the moisture is. Um, if it’s, sometimes if there’s a pipe it’ll be, it’ll show that it’s a three, four feet high and kinda coming down like a waterfall and then spread out along the, the base there. But this one wasn’t, it was about a foot high and just kinda traveled about 12 feet across. Um, you could tell that it was worse than one area. So that’s kind of where we started. Uh, made our initial flood cut there, removed the baseboards.
Uh, once we removed the baseboards, when this water damage Denver job, we noticed there was mold behind the baseboard. So as soon as we noticed that, we knew we had to put up a containment, so he stopped work right there. Um, we just want to, any type time you, you run across that, you just, sometimes you just don’t see it. Initially until you start doing some cutting and then you see it, and then when that occurs and you see the mold, you have to stop and put up a containment. We don’t want to spread these spores throughout the house or anything like that. So we noticed, uh, the mold on this water damage Denver job. And so we set up a containment through half the room, had to move beds, dressers, stuff like that to this area. Uh, we did it about a six feet back away from the wall because we knew eventually there’ll be work that needs to get done on this wall. Um, so about six feet back and from side to side, uh, there was a window. So we know where you’re going to set up a on this water damage. Denver job, we’re going to have to set up an air scrubber and a dehumidifier.
So we wanted to use the window to vent out the air scrubber. So we built a containment around that wall is around the window as well. So set up containment and then it allowed us to take a look at, uh, what we are dealing with. Uh, put on our protective gear and then did more cutting. So we cut about two feet high, about 15 feet across, um, mold continued along that, uh, dry wall as well. Uh, we just kinda chased it until it stopped. So it was about that 15 feet. So some water damage, Denver jobs, um, it’s confined to a one area and sometimes it’s spread out, which is a sign or indication that there was quite a bit of moisture or period of time or in different areas it was coming in. So once we removed that, we saw the, the framing of the house, the exterior wall was a brick concrete wall there. Um, but you could see it at the base of that where it was coming in. Uh, the framing was severely wet and damaged. Um, surprisingly on this water damage, Denver job, it didn’t have much mold or any mold on the framing, so it just was confined to the baseboard and the dry wall. Uh, we went ahead and treated it. You just never know. It’s microscopic, so you just, you want to be 100% sure. So we went ahead and treated that with our, uh, mold remediation product.
So we went back, pulled the pad back or carpet back and remove the pad. Carpet. Didn’t show much or any signs of any mold on it. So that’s a good thing. We knowing we can restore that carpet then with new pet. So you’re headed, went ahead and remove that on this water damage Denver job and remove the pad and set the equipment that was needed for that. So like I said, it was being, it was such a confined area. We went ahead and set a oneD hewn one air scrubber, set up the vent ventilation for the air scrubber, venting outside. So what that does is pull in the air filters, it, sends it back outside. So we’re always getting new air coming in there. Um, even though we set up containment, nothing is air tight. So we try to create a negative pressure and that’s what we did. Uh, when you set up containment on your water damage demurred jobs, you can see it being the containment wall, which is a six mil plastic being sucked in towards the area. You’re working. So that indicates that you have it under negative pressure. And that’s what we had done there and it was clearly visible that we had that negative pressure.
Water Damage Denver | Damage In The Bedroom?
So we did our testing of our, um, moisture readings inside, even though it was a minimal water damage. Uh, we always want to do testing. The framing is what’s going to take a while to dry out on this water damage Denver job. So what we found was it was the water moisture was coming in from the outside ground water. Um, there was a sprinkler right outside of that that constantly would spray against their wall. So, um, that’s not a good thing. You don’t want to have sprinklers that hits a structure, um, of the wall or of the, of a building. Uh, you want it to come up to it, but not spraying directly on it. You know, any time you have a sprinkler going 15, 20 minutes and all of that water hitting that structure and coming down, um, there’s that higher chance probability of it getting into the, the home itself through the foundation. So we don’t, we wanted to have them adjust that and not have it spray so hard on that, on the structures. So we pointed that out and there are guys were working on that to try and take care of that. Um, so on this water damage Denver job, we did our readings inside the effected area in our containment area outside of the room there as well as outside of the property. So we did our three readings
and we came back, um, for four more days. It actually took a little bit longer than anticipated, four days for
it to totally dry out this structure. We left the air scrubber there on this water damage Denver job for one more day. Um, we’d like to, any type of mold jobs, we’d like to leave our scrubber there five days, everything is exposed and then we ensure that this gets done. So on that fifth day, we have a vac to everything as well. Uh, we want to make sure we get all the particles and that we possibly can. So doing a HEPA vac well ensure that this is taken care of. Um, we also, uh, laid new pad down and re tucked the carpet fit, took our containment down, uh, [inaudible] clean the carpet there on this water damage Denver job and then move the content back to where they belonged. So, um, they had a [inaudible] by the time we got to call to do that, the drywall was done, new baseboard, everything was completed on our contractors side. So, um, it actually moved quite rapidly. Um, for this client, she was very happy [inaudible], um, wasn’t able to use the room for a while just because of the noise of the, the equipment in there. Sometimes it bothers people and so she had to use her spare bedroom. But, um, after everything was done on this water damage timber job, um, it was, uh, about 10 days from start to finish. So that’s a great turnaround. I’m happy client, like I said, left a great review for us.
